The three keys on the bottom are not affected by modifiers as well as the rest of the buttons on the thumb. When no modifier is pressed they work as movement keys (whenever I need to hit keys and move I use the mouse). That way my pinky presses the modifier for choosing the group and the keys work as they show on the screen. I have 3 groups of 8 icons (2 rows of 4 each) with diferent modifiers (ctrl, alt, shift). The only thing to be confortable with it is that you should lay the icons on the screen as the buttons they are placed on the device. I use the n52te and as many have said it works perfectly with Mac (besides using the diagonal macros on the d-pad, which also fails in Windows). Really love your blog, I’ve read it until I’ve memorized all the gems, enchants and equip, and now that I’m doing Naxx25 just come by every once in a while to check for new posts. So while I can’t discriminate between Logitech and Belkin, I do highly recommend this kind of product. You can still use shift/ctrl heals, the same way you do on a standard keyboard, if you’re into that sort of thing. (Mostly just in the sense of retraining yourself to new keybinds.) Macroing on it (natively mapping, say, a shift+1 key combo to a single key) isn’t as intuitive, unfortunately, as it’s something I’d like to explore. It was also very intuitive to set up, though there is naturally a learning curve in adapting to it in-game. Factor in that a big chunk of those were taken up for movement/strafing…) (My hands aren’t very large, and there are an extremely limited number of keys I can comfortably reach on a standard keyboard. I didn’t actually think I was going to like it as much as I did, but I found it really enhanced my mobility and reaction time when healing. going to find out more about this and i might get it not sure after the huge disappointment about the N52.I haven’t used the Logitech model, but I do have a Belkin. There is also another game pad that people use it x-key and x-key pro. So if you are tight on money and you are thinking about the N52, try the Fang it is half the price and you'll love it. Another thing is that when you save the layout you don't have to upload it to the pad like the N52. It might look cheap but have been using mine for 1 year and have no problems with it. The software is a lot more user friendly, and you don't need to make a macro for a button combo. The game pad that i was using before (now switch back) this one was the Ideazon Fang () and i love it to death. I know it takes time to get use to, but after a month of using it and returning one to get another that hopefully worked better, i hate this thing. Half the time the buttons would not even respond (I have the tab save to one of the button, and i would spam that button and it wouldn't target anything even if the mob was in front of me). Half the time it would record the macro great and when i closed and reopen the software and it rewrote the macro that i recorded. If you wanted to use a combo of buttons (Left + 1) you have to set up a macro for it and the software for making a macro is not the best. Didn't really use the mouse wheel because it was in a weird place. There where a couple times where the gamepad would just make a random movement or it would just auto run (without me pushing auto run). I bought the N52te a month and a half ago and i hate it. I know a couple people here use the Belkin N52 and I know that the original was the best and the others are not that good.
